It isn’t more light we need, it’s putting into practice what light we already have. When we do that, wonderful things will happen within our lives and within our world.
Peace Pilgrim
I invite you to slow down and savor these words. Wander leisurely, slowly. Try them on. See if they fit. See how they feel. Notice the gravitational pull of some of them.
Pause a little at the end of each line and the words will flow harmoniously.
Following the poem are queries you may wish to engage. Questions arose in the writing of this piece that gave me the opportunity to choose which of two or more vastly different universes I wanted to live in. I offer them to you in hopes they will be useful, but follow your own guidance and explore the world of this poem exactly as you wish.
Poems are my fervent prayers. And they are my questions. Feel free to agree, or take issue. And let yourself follow the words to other unseen words that may be be calling you.
May the poems be of direct use. May they comfort, stretch, challenge, inspire, delight and touch you. May you find in them something truthful and solid to hold on to. May they help you overcome limitations, avoid obstacles and discover paths to greater freedom and love. And in the words of Henry David Thoreau, may they help us all “dwell as close as possible to that channel in which our lives flow.”
